Seamless CAD Integration

Our plotters work effortlessly with leading CAD software like: Gerber AccuMark, Optitex, Audaces, TukaTech, Lectra, PAD System, StyleCAD, Vetigraph, Crea.

Note: Any CAD or pattern-making software may be used, provided that it can export files in .PLT, .HPG, or HPGL format, which are compatible with the plotter for printing.

Supported File Formats

  • PLT, HPGL, HPG.
  • Some DXF, DXF-AAMA, ASTM DXF, DWG (via optional conversion tools (additional cost).

If the software cannot export a .PLT, .HPGL, or .HPG file and can only export DXF or DWG files, Velocity Plotters & Cutters offers a conversion program that can convert DXF, DXF-AAMA, or DWG files into .PLT or .HPGL format. This creates a secure, plotter-compatible printing file that can be used with the Velocity plotter. The conversion program is available at an additional cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the plotter change the size of my designs?

No. The plotter follows the exact specifications of the CAD file. It does not alter dimensions. It simply reproduces what was designed.

No. While you do need a CAD system to create the design, the plotter runs on its own software. The CAD user sends the file (usually by email), and the plotter software reads and processes it for printing. The plotter software is not for design but for operation.

The plotter uses HP #45 black ink cartridges, which are widely available at retailers such as Target, OfficeMax, Office Depot, and Amazon. You may also choose to purchase cartridges through Velocity Plotters.

The plotter reads and prints from the following standard formats:
PLT, HPGL, HPG

Each cartridge provides approximately 6,000 yards of plotting.

The plotter is compatible with paper rolls between 200 to 500 yards in length.

Single head: 50 yd2/h
Dual head: 96 yd2/h
Quad head: 180 yd2/h

Our plotters come with a comprehensive warranty to ensure your peace of mind:

  • Parts Warranty (1 year): Any defective components are replaced at no cost within the first 12 months.
  • Labor Warranty (3 months): Covers labor costs associated with repairs for the first three months.

No, Velocity plotters are not pre-assembled due to shipping and logistical considerations.
However, we ensure that setup is fast, guided, and stress-free. Our technical team provides:

  • Step-by-step remote installation support
  • Configuration assistance for software and connectivity
  • Calibration and first-run testing
  • User training on operation and basic maintenance

Whether you’re local or remote, our priority is to ensure your plotter is fully operational from day one—with the guidance and support you need.

Both plotters play vital roles in textile and apparel production, but they serve different purposes:

  • Marker Plotter:
Prints marker layouts. Optimized arrangements of pattern pieces to reduce fabric waste in mass production. Ideal for factory environments.
  • Pattern Plotter:
Prints individual templates or patterns with annotations and cutting lines. Best suited for designers and pre-production tasks.

Depending on your workflow, you can use either one or combine both for a fully integrated production solution.

Velocity plotters support most major CAD systems used in apparel, automotive, and technical textile production, including Gerber AccuMark, Optitex, Audaces, TukaTech, Lectra, PAD System, StyleCAD, Vetigraph, and Crea.

A pattern plotter only prints patterns and markers on paper. A plotter cutter (like the Velocity Pattern Plotter Cutter) both prints and cuts the paper pattern in a single integrated process.
